Washington DC 2024

We ended up going to Washington DC last minute from New York as a DJ we were going to see (Fisher) cancelled a few days before.

We took the Amtrak (which left from Penn station and cost only $100). It took 3 hours, and we arrived at DC’s union station.

The area that was recommended to stay was DuPont circle (hotel we stayed at was called the Royal Sonesta), which was a 20 minute Uber ride from Union station.

From the hotel, we basically checked in Ubered another 20 minutes to the Wharf area, where we were going to eat at Hell’s Kitchen. Before going there we had a drink nearby at Whisky Charlie:

The wharf area seems like a pretty good place to hang out, like Santana Row. Also could stay there next time in terms of hotel.

For Hell’s Kitchen, this is the review:

Afterwards, we headed east to go to a club called Echostage to see a DJ called Mau P. Clubs is the number 3 club according to DJ mag. Sound system was good, and visuals. Seemed like the average age was 25.

Next morning we explored Georgetown. We got brunch at this place:

After, shopped in the area along M street (bought stuff at Rag & Bone and Rothy). They also had a Capital One cafe on that street (you get 50% off if you use their card). We also checked out this rooftop bar:

We the headed for the airport to DCA. DCA has limited lounges (we tried the United lounge and it was pretty bad). Next time would fly out of IAD (they have a Chase Sapphire Reserve Loinge
